This book is about a little girl who is living in Copenhagan during the time of Hitler's reign. Annemarie is struggling to understand what is happening to the world around her and why her best friends family is going into hiding. Throughout the entire book, Annemarie and her family help to keep the Rosen's safe from the Nazi's and get them across to free land. This book is good for children because it shows the history of the wars and the struggles that children and adults had endeared during the time of World War II.
Bunnicula By: James Howe
This book is about the Monroe family and their new bunny that they had brought home to add to the family. The story is told through their dog Harold and how he thinks that the bunnyis a vampire. The Monroe's cat, Chester, is consumed on proving that Bunnicula is a blood sucking vampire. This book is good for children because it is suspenseful and gives the children a mystery to solve whether the bunny is just a normal pet or a vicous vampire.
Indian in the Cupboard By: Lynne Reid Banks
This book is about a boy named Omri who recieves a "magical key and cupboard" for his birthday. When given an indian plastic figure for his birthday from his friend Patrick, Omri is disappointed. One day he puts the indian in the cupboard, and finds out it turns plastic figures to real life. The book continues on the journey and adventures as Omri discovers he can turn plastic to real life figures. This book is good for children because it lets them use their imagination and keep them wondering what will happen next.
