Prince Cinders By: Babette Coles
This book is about Prince Cinders who desires to be just like
his hairy brothrs. A fairy makes him into a big hairy monkey
by accident. He goes to the disco to find his princess. The
princess was determined who fit into her trousers that no
one seemed to fit into, until Prince Cinders arrived! Prince Cinders
and the princess then married, and it made him realize that he
does not need to be anyone but himself. This book is good for children
because it is like the fairytale Cinderella with a twist.
The Wolf Who Cried Boy By: Jeffery Dinardo
This book is about a wolf that is in the woods one day. He thought that it would be
funny to play a trick on his friends pig, cat, and turtle. He screamed that he was getting
attacked by a boy. By the time they had come running, the wolf had said it was only just a joke.
He did this again and again until one day a boy did pop out of the woods, but no one came running.
Mrs. Pig had played a trick on the wolf. The wolf never bothered them again. This book is good to
teach children a lesson about lying.
You Are Special By: Max Lucado
I really enjoyed reading this book and feel that it is a great book to read in the classroom. The book is about all the Wemmicks, wooden people that live together in a village. If you are talented and great at doing different things, you will get a gold star. If you are clumsy and not so talented. So one day, Punchinello decided to go see the master who made him. The moral of the story is to believe in yourself and then it should not matter what anyone else things of you.
Bubba The Cowboy Prince By: Helen Ketteman
This is a fractured fairytale about a Texas boy named Bubba. This fairytale is quite like Cinderella. Bubba is bossed around the family ranch by his horrible stepdad and his mean stepbrothers, Miz Lureen is the prettiest girl in Texas and she is having a ball. Bubba is not going to the ball, until his fairy godcow saves the day. This book is good for children because they can read this fairytale from a different perspective other than the regular Cinderella fairytale.
