This book is about a little boy who a monster underneath his bed has called Gabe. Gabe had gone fishing for the night and the little boy needed to find a substitute monster because he was not able to fall
asleep. There are many substitute monsters that come in but they are not scary
enough as Gabe was for the little boy. After the little boy had been denied by
all the monsters for being so picky, Gabe comes back and scares the little boy
so he is able to fall asleep.

This book is about keeping Hush safe from snakes and by doing
this Grandma Poss uses her bush magic to make Hush invisible. For a while the
possum enjoys being invisible, but one day she asks her grandmother to make her
visible again. After looking unsuccessfully through her spell books, Grandma
Hush remembers that the magic has something to do with eating “people food.” So
begins a journey around Australia, looking for lamington, pavlova, and vegemite
sandwiches that will make Hush visible once more. One thing by one thing, Hush
slowly gets back parts of the body such as the tail being first. This book is
fun for children to read because it can show that not all things are always
better on the other side and sometimes to be grateful for what you have.

This book is one of the Harry Potter series by
Jk. Rowling. Harry is serving as a slave for his aunt and uncle as an eleven
year old boy. Come to find out he is a wizard. Harry is snatched to go to the
school of Hogwarts for wizards. Harry becomes friends with Ron and Hermonine and
learns throughout the book that all not wizards can be trusted. His Dark Arts
teacher wants to destroy Harry, and this book leaves you wanting to know more
and more. I think that this book is good for children because they can use their
imagination and also read about Harry and the school of Hogwarts only leaving
them wanting to read more of the Harry Potter series.
James and the Giant Peach By: Ronald

This book is about a boy named James' who lives in the English seaside.This ended
when his parents are killed by a rhinoceros and he goes to live with his two
mean aunts. He saves the life of a spider he comes into possession of magic
boiled crocodile tongues, after which an enormous peach starts to grow in the
garden. By going inside he meets not only the spider but a number of new friends
including a ladybug and a centipede who help him with his plan to try and get to
New York. This book is good for children because it lets them use their
imagination with the talking animals and also shows the journey of James.
Children Make Terrible Pets By: Peter Brown
This book is about a bear named Lucy. Lucy finds a little boy named Sqeaker in the woods and brings him home to her Mom. Lucy asks her Mom if she can keep the little boy, but her Mom says only under her responsibility. Lucy keeps Sqeaker and they play together, eat together, and nap together. Finally, Lucy realizes that Sqeaker is not potty trained and causes many problems, including throwing tantrums. One day Sqeaker disappeared and Lucy found him back with his family. Lucy finally realized that Sqeaker was not a good pet and she told her Mom that children actually do make terrible pets.
Franklins Valentine By: Paulette Bourgeois
This book is about Franklin and making his Valentine's Day cards for everyone in class. Once he had come to school,there were no Valentine's Days cards in his bag. His mother had found his cards in a puddle. Frankling felt sad each time someone gave him a Valentine and he had nothing in return. Franklin then made his cards for friendship day. This book is good for kids because they can possibly relate to the situation that Franklin was put in and it is great to read around the holiday.
